Podcast 006 // Are We Meant To Be Famous?
It's just me (Kylan) for tonight's podcast because Breck is away with a friend for her birthday. I always enjoy talking, so it's not uncomfortable for me to do it alone. Today, I talked about our ever-changing podcast setup and the pump track I took my kids to earlier. It was fun watching them ride and connect with others who share their love for biking.
I also discussed the theme of success and fame, and how we challenge ourselves to define it and consider its impact on ourselves and those around us. Pursuing success may seem like a good idea, but we need to ask ourselves what we are sacrificing for it. In the movie "Surf's Up," the protagonist learns that success is not about winning or competition, but about enjoying the journey and the process.
I then talked about my love-hate relationship with renting our house and my desire to fix things around the yard. I also discussed the importance of evaluating our hobbies and letting go of those that no longer fulfill us or contribute to our family. For us, biking has become a fulfilling family activity that also allows us to connect with our community and contribute our time through volunteering.
Thanks for tuning in, and I hope you enjoyed this episode.
