We just left Pinnacles National Park in California.
Here’s what will be our most cherished/incredible memory of Pinnacles National Park:
A family of four pulled up to the site next to us. They had two boys (6 and 4) and instantly connected with our kids. The kids all quickly realized they didn’t speak the same language (the family is from Germany on the last few days of their 3-week vacation). And so began the sweetest hand gestures and signals as a form of communication. The parents (who are both medical doctors and the father is also a helicopter pilot) speak 5 languages fluently. We had the most incredible conversations from dawn until dusk and beyond. We talked about love, world politics, the future of our children, vaccinations, food, marriage, parenthood, and so much more. I went to bed kind of emotional.
This is exactly why I wanted to do this. Watching Miles play and bond with Noah (their oldest) was so incredible. As I lay him in bed, “Mom, is it possible to make the best friends and not even speak the same language?” My heart is so freaking full right now. Haha I know not every experience will be this perfect, but God sure kicked this adventure off on the right foot for me! 😭🙌😱😍💕 -Breck
